Travel Diaries- Rome

I was going through some old pictures the other day and came across some beautiful images of my Rome trip.

I went to Rome as part of a school trip in high-school. I remember how excited I was at my first proper trip out of the UK . Although I should add, the only times I had been out of the UK was to visit my home country - Zimbabwe.

I never really counted that as a trip though. I always used to wonder what the other parts of the world were like. I would hear other kids talking about how they go to Spain EVERY year and wished that I could experience this too. Side note- I have only just visited Spain for the first time THIS year!, I will do a separate Travel Diary for that another time.

Anyway, I also remember how I had just got that good good burgundy passport and I was using it for the first time! (For my fellow Africans, or non- English natives..you know the struggle!)

Although, I can't really remember the exact places we visited and the history behind it all, I just know that this was one of my favorite places and I would LOVE to visit again. I fell in love with the historical and religious buildings.

Maybe I was too excited to just be in Rome or I had no interest at the time, but I wish I payed some attention to the history behind some of the places. In all fairness, I think I must have been like 16 and had the worst attention span. I still do if I am being honest.
